My difficult decision to leave my family... the euphoria of freedom in Eritrea. Working in my "own" country after 11 years of living as an asylum seeker in Germany.

The Project Identification Mission and the Integrated Food Security Programm- Gash-Setit in Eritrea. Following the liberation of Eritrea, the German government allocated funds to Eritrea. The task of the PIM was to identify a project to implement the resource.

ABOUT ME
My name is Fikre Abraha
It was 1991, over 34 years back. Eritrea, after a dreadful war, got its liberation. A new land was born. A long dream fulfilled. Many of us left to work or live there permanently. During my internship at GTZ at the time, I had the opportunity to join a mission to identify a project in Eritrea. Leaving a working wife with two children, aged 6 and 9 months, was not an easy decision.
